The compressor magazine, an aerospace science and technology term published in 2003, refers to the outer casing that contains the rotor and stator of a compressor. As one of the main load-bearing parts of an aircraft engine, it has a complex shape and structure, and the shape of the casing varies with different engines and different parts of the engine. But the basic characteristics of the magazine is a cylindrical or conical shell and support plate components.
Function and role
Compressor magazine in the aero-engine plays multiple roles:
1. Improve the efficiency of the pressurizer: the design of the magazine helps to reduce air leakage losses and optimize the airflow channels, thus improving the efficiency of the pressurizer.
2. Bear and transfer loads: as the main load-bearing parts of the engine, the magazine needs to bear the various loads generated by the rotor and static son, and transfer them to other parts of the engine.
3. Inclusive capacity: the magazine needs to be inclusive enough to ensure that in extreme cases such as broken blades or ruptured disks, debris can be prevented from penetrating the magazine and the rest of the engine is protected from damage.
