Basic Properties

Appearance: ironless aluminum sulfate is white crystal or powder, solid product is white granule or lump, sometimes with pearl luster.

Solubility: soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol, aqueous solution is acidic.

Stability: relatively stable chemical properties, not easy to decompose and oxidize. However, it is easy to absorb moisture and agglomerate when stored in the air for a long time, the dehydration temperature is 86.5℃, and it loses crystalline water when heated to 250℃, anhydrous aluminum sulfate starts to decompose when heated to 300℃, and it starts to decompose obviously when heated to 530℃, and the decomposition ends at 860℃, and the final product of decomposition is aluminum oxide (Al2O3).

Aluminum Sulfate Uses

Aluminum sulfate is mainly used as sizing agent for paper making and flocculant for drinking water, industrial water and wastewater treatment, and it is also the raw material for the production of artificial gemstones and other aluminum salts, such as ammoniacal alum, potash alum and refined aluminum sulfate. In addition, aluminum sulfate is also widely used in the production of high-quality clarifying agent, petroleum deodorant and decolorant, concrete waterproofing agent, high-grade paper forging white, titanium dioxide after film treatment and catalyst carrier.

Paper industry as rosin glue, wax emulsion and other rubber precipitant, water treatment for flocculant, but also for foam fire extinguishers within the retention of the agent, the manufacture of alum, aluminum white raw materials, petroleum decolorization, deodorants, raw materials for certain drugs. 7. Can be used as raw materials for the manufacture of artificial gemstones and high-grade ammonium alum, other aluminum salts;

8. In the fuel industry, in the production of chrome yellow and color precipitation dyes as a precipitant, but also play a role in solid color and filler.
