When the driver depresses the brake pedal, the control actuator opens the air valve, allowing outside air to enter the rear chamber, while the vacuum valve closes, separating the front chamber from the rear chamber. Under the effect of air pressure difference, the diaphragm will move towards the brake master cylinder, thus assisting the driver to brake. After releasing the brake pedal, the diaphragm will quickly return under the action of the reset spring, and the air in the rear chamber will be sucked away to prepare for the next braking.
